GAST Gauge and String Theories
Non-perturbative Dynamics in Gauge and String Theories

GAST

We intend to promote synergies between researchers expert in different fields, exchange of information and interactions among senior, young researchers and graduate students. In order to enhance our collaboration and research activities, we have organized three workshops in 2010, 2012 and in 2013:

  1. The workshop, "The theories of the fundamental Interactions" co-organized by PI14, MI12, TS11, TV12 project groups (Jun 2010, Perugia);
  2. The workshop, "The theories of the fundamental Interactions" co-organized by PI14, MI12, TS11, TV12 project groups (Jan 2012, SISSA);
  3. The mini-workshop, "Gauge and String Theories (GAST)" organized by the PI14 collaboration, (March 2013, Bologna).

"GAST" (Gauge and String Theories) has been chosen as the acronym of our renewed special project group (PI14), to be presented this year, for 2014-2016.

GAST actively participated to the Galileo Galilei Institute for Theoretical Physics program, organizing long term workshops, "Large-N Gauge Theories", "Geometry of Strings and Fields", and Ph. D. schools for higher education, 6 editions of LACES, "Lezioni Avanzate di Campi E Stringhe". We also contribute to the organization of Workshops at ICTP in Trieste, "Geometric Correspondences of Gauge Theories", three editions.

GAST is a vibrant project group, with all of its local coordinators young and active researchers, and is in particular characterized by close and fruitful network of collaborations.

We intend to continue to organize further exchange of visits, seminars and small workshops. In particular, we wish to create occasions of discussions and to encourage effective collaborations among the members of the research group.
