Statistical Field Theory of Quantum Devices

The Conference

STATPHYS 23 Satellite Meeting "Statistical Field Theory of Quantum Devices" is to be held in the Conference Center of Hotel Giò Arte e Vini, Perugia, Italy,  from July 16th to July 19th 2007.

The Conference is sponsored by the European Science Foundation activity: Interdisciplinary Statistical and Field Theory Approaches to Nanophysics and Low Dimensional Systems.

Registration to the Conference is open until May 31st 2007. However, early registration is strongly recommended since the total number of participants is limited to 80.

The Conference shall provide an overview of the non-perturbative methods developed in modern investigations of conformal and topological field theories with an eye on their use to explain non-perturbative properties exhibited by pertinent condensed matter systems such as quantum dots, quantum wires, Josephson junction networks, cold atomic systems, nanotubes, graphene layers and inhomogeneous fermionic systems. The Conference shall explore the possibility of using the remarkable non-perturbative behaviors exhibited by these systems to engineer new classes of quantum devices.

Sessions will start at 9 a.m. of July 16th 2007 and will be ending at 1 p.m. of July 19th 2007. Participants should register at the workshop venue from 7 to 9 p.m. of July 15th or, on July 16th, from 8 to 9 a.m.. Lectures - by invitation only - will be delivered in topical plenary sessions scheduled from 9 a.m to 1 p.m. on each day of the workshop and from 4 to 8 p.m. on July 16th-18th. On July 16th and 18th a poster session will be organized.
