Welcome to
the
Fifth International Conference on Perspectives in Hadronic Physics
Particle-Nucleus and
Nucleus-Nucleus
Scattering at Relativistic Energies
22
- 26 May 2006
(Miramare
- Trieste, Italy)
The
Conference follows the previous four ones (held in 1997, 1999, 2001
and 2003) and seven Workshops on Perspectives in Nuclear Physics at
Intermediate Energies, jointly organized every two years, from 1983
to 1995, by the ICTP and INFN. The present Conference will be more
topical than the previous ones, focussing on the present and future
theoretical and experimental activities in the field of relativistic
particle-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus scattering and related topics,
aimed at the investigation of the states of matter at extreme
conditions and possible formation of quark-gluon plasma. To this end,
the following topics will be discussed:
-
lepton-nucleus scattering
-
hadron-nucleus scattering
-
nucleus-nucleus scattering
-
matter at extreme conditions
The
Conference will consist of invited and contributed talks.
Proceedings
will be published.
